A 15-year-old adolescent has been punished to life imprisonment with a base period of 16 years for the murder of fellow pupil the victim during a lunch break.
The perpetrator stabbed the victim, also aged 15, into the heart with a hunting knife at Sheffield's educational institution in the second month.
The judge revoked the anonymity limitation on the perpetrator during the punishment phase at Sheffield Crown Court.
The victim's mother expressed she felt "as if a big weight has been lifted off my back" following the judgment.
The pair of teenagers had beforehand disputed over digital networks in the time prior to the fatal encounter.
Mrs Willgoose stated she was glad the base duration had been determined above the statutory minimum of 15 years.
"My parent has been having cancer treatment through the court proceedings and he just couldn't hold on any longer," she stated.
Prior to the killing on the third of February, Khan and Harvey had chosen opposite sides in a unrelated disagreement between two other schoolmates.
CCTV from the occasion of the knife attack revealed the killer coming near the victim in the courtyard shortly after lunchtime.
Witnesses recounted a scene of "chaos", with those present "running, shouting everywhere" during the aggressive incident.
During the court case, Khan stated he had not meant to kill Harvey or cause him serious harm, stating he could not recollect what had occurred.
The prosecution maintained that he had "intended to show he was formidable" and "was aware exactly what he was carrying out".
"You served as the instigator and... you acted in pain and rage at what you regarded to be his treachery of your friendship," stated the court official during the judgment.
All Saints Catholic High School issued a message conveying that Harvey was "greatly remembered every daytime by the complete educational community".
Investigators highlighted the tragic outcomes of bearing knives, commenting that a "instantaneous decision" can permanently change numerous existences.
